Use the Gender question in Zonka Feedback to capture demographic details and personalize customer or employee experiences.

The Gender question type allows you to collect respondents’ gender identity in a structured format. It helps segment responses, personalize communication, and build detailed contact records.

Use Gender when:

  • You want to capture demographic information

  • You need personalization for marketing or reporting

  • You’re building customer or employee profiles

How to Add a Gender Question

To add a Gender field to your survey:

  • Go to the Survey Hub and open the survey you want to edit.

  • Navigate to the Build section.

  • From the Question Types Panel, choose Gender under the Contact Information category.

  • Drag and drop the Gender question type into your survey.

  • Click on the question to edit the label (e.g., “Please select your gender”) and customize the available options.


Customization options

  • Default Options: Male, Female, Other

  • Add Custom Options: Include non-binary or prefer-not-to-say choices

  • Make Required: Ensure the field must be completed before submission


Things to keep in mind

  • Gender data is stored in the Contacts module

  • Use it for segmentation, targeting, and reporting

  • Keep options inclusive and relevant to your audience
