Legal Terms Question in Zonka Feedback

The Legal Terms question type allows you to display important legal content—like terms and conditions, privacy policies, or disclaimers—and collect respondent consent via a checkbox.

Use Legal Terms when:

  • You need to get explicit consent before collecting data

  • You're complying with regulations like GDPR or HIPAA

  • You want to show terms, agreements, or usage policies

What is a Legal Terms question?

  • It shows a statement or block of text with a required checkbox for consent

  • Respondents must check the box to proceed if marked required

  • It is not meant to capture open-text input or feedback


Where to use Legal Terms

  • Before collecting personally identifiable information (PII)

  • In lead generation, healthcare, or finance surveys

  • For user onboarding surveys, beta programs, or promotions requiring legal acknowledgment


How to Add a Legal Terms Question

To add a Legal Terms or disclaimer to your survey:

  • Go to the Survey Hub and open the survey you want to modify.

  • Enter the Build section.

  • In the Question Types Panel, find the Legal Terms question type under the Input or Information category.

  • Drag and drop the Legal Terms question into your survey canvas.

  • Click the question to add your legal statement or link to your privacy policy.


Customization options

  • Consent Text: Add terms, disclaimers, or links (use markdown or HTML for formatting)

  • Checkbox Label: Customize the label (e.g., “I agree to the terms and conditions”)

  • Make it Required: Ensure users must check it before proceeding

  • Display Link: Link to external documents or open in a new tab

  • Responses are stored as Yes/No (Checked/Unchecked)

  • Make it required for legal compliance

  • Use concise wording and provide links to detailed legal pages
