The Radio Buttons question type in Zonka Feedback lets your respondents choose one answer from a list of options displayed all at once. It is one of the most commonly used question types when you need clear, quick selections without dropdowns or multiple selections.

What is a Radio Button question?

  • Radio Buttons allow participants to select exactly one answer from a list of visible options.

  • All options are shown on-screen, making it easy to compare and choose.

  • Great for quick responses, especially on short forms or single-page surveys.


Where to use Radio Button questions

  • Yes/No or True/False type questions

  • Selecting a preferred service, location, or department

How to Add a Radio Button Question

To add a Radio Button question to your survey, follow these steps:

  • Go to the Survey Hub from the main navigation.

  • Select the survey you want to edit from the list.

  • In the Build section of the survey, open the Question Types Panel on the left.

  • Under the Choices category, select Radio Button.

  • Drag and drop the Radio Button question into your survey or click to insert it in the desired place.

  • Click on the question to open its customization settings.


Customization options for Radio Buttons

  • Question Label: Write the question text you want to ask

  • Add Options: Add all answer choices

    • You can reorder options using drag-and-drop

    • Add as many options as needed

  • Randomize Choices: Enable this to shuffle options per respondent

  • Add “Other” Option:

    • Allow users to input their own answer when none of the options fit

    • An optional text field appears with the “Other” choice

  • Make it Required: Ensure this question must be answered before submission

  • Survey Logic:

    • Use logic to show/hide follow-up questions based on selected response

    • Great for personalizing survey paths


Things to keep in mind

  • Radio Buttons support only one selection. If you want to allow multiple, use the Checkbox question type.

  • All choices are always visible, which may not be ideal for long lists — in such cases, consider using Dropdown.

  • You can combine Radio Buttons with logic to create smart branching paths based on user input.

  • “Other” with text input is built-in for more flexibility.
