Create a rule for automating tag assignment to your responses based on some keywords or phrases.

A huge amount of responses is collected when a survey is conducted in any scenario and the tagging is performed to categorise these responses in a form understandable for analysis.

Zonka Feedback offers you to automate the tag assignment to your response based on matching keywords. You can simply create an auto-tag rule and it will start adding tags to the responses without any manual intervention.

How can we create an auto tag rule?

Auto-tagging is a simple technique of automatically applying tags based on predefined keywords and phrases.

To create an auto-tag, these steps have to be followed:

  1. Go to a survey from the list of surveys on the Dashboard.

  2. Click on ‘Build and Distribute’ of that survey.

  3. Go to the ‘Automation’ tab in the top navigation.

  4. You will see 3 tabs - Workflows, Auto Responders and Auto Tagging. Click on Auto-tagging.

  5. Click on the “Add an auto-tag rule”.

  6. A pop up will appear. The create auto tag rule pop up will have following components-

  • Question - Select the question of the survey, response of which will determine the tagging.

  • Assign Tag - Make selection of the tag you wish to assign when a keyword is matched in the response of the selected question

  • Keywords - Add one or more keywords which the system will look for in the responses to add the ‘Assign Tag’.

How can we update an auto-tag rule?

To update an existing auto-tag, these steps have to be followed:

  1. Go to a survey from the list of surveys on the Dashboard.

  2. Click on ‘Build and Distribute’ of that survey.

  3. Go to the ‘Automation’ tab in the top navigation.

  4. You will see 3 tabs - Workflows, Auto Responders and Auto Tagging. Click on Auto-tagging.

  5. In the list of auto-tags, click on the ‘Edit’ against the one you wish to update.

  6. You can change all of its components.

  7. Click on ‘Update’ to save the changes.

How can we delete an auto-tag rule?

To update an existing auto-tag, these steps have to be followed:

  1. Go to a survey from the list of surveys on the Dashboard.

  2. Click on ‘Build and Distribute’ of that survey.

  3. Go to the ‘Automation’ tab in the top navigation.

  4. You will see 3 tabs - Workflows, Auto Responders and Auto Tagging. Click on Auto-tagging.

  5. In the list of auto-tags, click on the ‘More options’ against the one you wish to delete.

  6. Click on the ‘Delete’ option.

The auto-tag will be successfully deleted.

How does auto-tagging work?

Zonka Feedback auto-tagging feature takes care of all the survey responses the moment they are submitted.

When someone takes a survey and submit a response against it, the auto tag manager comes into action. It will automatically go through the answer in the selected question and try to find the keywords which were mentioned when the auto tag rule was first created.

If the keyword is found, the respective tag is assigned to the response. If the keyword is not found, the response is left unassigned.
