Data capture mode in Zonka Feedback encapsulates a specific way of capturing data in offline mode through your survey forms, such as through Kiosks, Tablets and Mobiles.

When to use Data Capture Modes?

Data Capture Modes are ideal to use in your survey when you want to set up the medium or the platform through which you are capturing the data in your survey form. Each capture mode can be individually enabled and disabled to switch between different ways of capturing data.

How to set up the Data Capture Mode in your Survey in Zonka Feedback?

  1. Navigate to Surveys (Manage > Surveys) from the left side bar.

  2. In the Survey table page, click on the Survey for which you want to do the set up in the settings.

  3. Select the Build option on the top to enter the Survey Builder.

  4. In the Survey builder, click on Gear icon on the top left hand side to enter the Survey Settings.

  5. Select the option Offline Surveys in the pop up. In this option, you get the Data Capture Modes section.

Types of Data Capture Modes

In Data Capture Mode section, you get different offline modes to choose from for capturing Survey feedback data. They are,

  • Kiosk Surveys: This mode is when you want to capture the data through a tablet survey as kiosk and don't have or want assistance in handling the tablet and survey. This allows respondents to choose on their own if they'd like to fill the survey. Kiosk mode should be enabled where the sample size of the surveys is very large and spread over the premises. For example, in a hospital to capture the patient feedback, a Kiosk can be placed at the exit door in which the daily outgoing patients can put their feedback on their own rather than being asked to or approaching each and every one of them.

  • Face to Face Surveys: This mode is when you want to use a tablet & hand it over to capture the responses and have assistance available to handle the tablet and survey. You can also set up pre-capture screen with the option below where you can toggle to allow your team members or users to fill information related to the response before the survey is completed by the respondent. Face to Face surveys mode should be enabled where the sample size is limited. For example, in a restaurant, a tablet can be handed over for collecting feedbacks with the bill. You can add a pre-capture screen in this mode which is only visible to him and where your team member can fill in some personal details before taking the survey from the customer.

  • Mobile Forms:
