Attributes to Sync: Choose What Zonka Sends to Your Integrations 📝

Choose which Contact, Response, Hidden, Integration, and Sentiment attributes Zonka Feedback syncs to your connected integrations. 📝

Written by Nitish Walia

When Zonka Feedback sends a Survey Response to a connected integration — creating a ticket, posting a notification, or syncing the full response — it carries the attributes attached to that Response along with the answers. Attributes to Sync lets you choose exactly which of those attribute types are included, for each Survey and each Integration.

With Attributes to Sync, you can:

  • Include Contact details, Response details, Hidden Variables, Integration data, and AI Sentiment in everything you sync

  • Turn off any attribute type you do not want leaving Zonka Feedback

  • Set it separately for every Survey and every Integration

In this section

What do you need for this?

  • A Zonka Feedback Account

  • At least one connected Integration — such as Slack, Zendesk, Freshdesk, HubSpot, Intercom, Jira, Pipedrive, Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, HelpScout, Active Campaign, or Sysaid etc.

  • An Integration action turned on for your Survey — such as creating a ticket, sending a notification, or syncing Responses

Attribute types you can sync

There are five attribute types. Each one can be turned on or off independently.

Contact Attributes

Email, mobile, name, and other contact information associated with the Response.

Response Attributes

Response-specific information such as location, agent, and other Response details.

Hidden Variables

Values passed when the Survey is sent. These may include hidden identifiers.

Integration Attributes

Attributes received from connected Integrations such as Salesforce, Shopify, Zendesk, and more. For example, a Survey triggered after a Shopify order carries the order ID, order total, line items, and shipping details — and those can be synced onward to the Integration where you work.

Sentiment Analysis

AI-detected sentiment, emotion, intent, and urgency for each open-text Response.

Where to find Attributes to Sync

  • Choose a Survey from the Survey List View and head to the Integrations tab from the top navigation.

  • Open the Integration you want to manage — for example Zendesk, Jira, or Slack.

  • Click on 'Attributes to Sync'.

Managing your Attributes to Sync

  • Click on 'Attributes to Sync' on the Integration settings page.

  • Turn each attribute type on or off using the toggles. All five are on by default.

  • Click on 'Save' to apply your changes. Click 'Cancel' to close without saving.

Your selection applies to that Survey and that Integration only. If the same Survey is connected to more than one Integration, set it separately for each.

Changes apply to new Survey Responses received after you save. Responses already synced are not updated.

How synced attributes appear in your Integration

Synced attributes are grouped under their own headings, after the Survey questions and answers. Integration Attributes appear under a heading named for the Integration they came from — for example Salesforce Attributes or Shopify Attributes.

A ticket created in Zendesk looks like this:

A Slack notification follows the same structure, with a View Response button at the end:

An attribute type with no values on a Response is left out, and its heading does not appear.

Supported Integrations

Attributes to Sync is available across your connected Integrations, including:

  • Zendesk

  • Freshdesk

  • HubSpot

  • Intercom

  • Jira

  • Pipedrive

  • Salesforce

  • Slack

  • Pipedrive

  • Microsoft Teams

  • Gorgias

  • HelpScout

  • Active Campaign

  • Sysaid

It applies to every action that sends Response data outward — creating a ticket or issue, sending a notification, and syncing the full Response.

Things to keep in mind

  • All five attribute types are on by default. If you do not want an attribute type synced, turn it off before your Survey starts collecting Responses.

  • Hidden Variables often carry internal identifiers that you passed when sending the Survey. Review this one before syncing to any Integration where the content may be visible outside your team.

  • Survey questions, answers, and scores are always included. Attributes to Sync controls the five attribute types only.

  • Changes apply going forward. Already-synced Responses stay as they were.

FAQs: Attributes to Sync

Does this apply to all my Surveys?

No. Attributes to Sync is set per Survey and per Integration. Setting it on one Survey does not change any other Survey.

Will turning an attribute type off change tickets or notifications already created?

No. Your change applies to new Responses received after you save.

Can I sync attributes from one Integration into a different one?

Yes. Attributes are attached to the Response, so attributes collected through one Integration can be synced to another. For example, Shopify order details collected with a post-purchase Survey can be included in the Zendesk ticket created from that Response.

What happens if a Response has no values for an attribute type?

That section is left out of the synced content, including its heading.

Can I choose individual attributes instead of whole types?

Not at the moment. The toggles work at the attribute-type level.

Where do Survey questions and answers sit in this?

They are always synced and are not controlled by these toggles.
