What is Conditional URL Redirection Logics?

By default, when a response is submitted, you can customize and have a neat Thank you page; however, it does not give users a clear idea of what to do or where to go next on your site.

Conditional URL Redirection Logic empowers you to create dynamic surveys that determine what a respondent sees and what happens based on their submitted response.

Essentially, you can create different actions triggered by different survey responses.

Logic can be set to hide or skip certain questions, finish a survey before time, and redirect respondents to a URL on completion. Use Conditional Logic in surveys to get deeper insights and automate actions.

Types of URL Redirection in Zonka Feedback

Zonka Feedback has two types of URL Redirection - Simple and Conditional.

1. Simple URL Redirection

You can choose the URL (the web page link) where you would like to redirect the respondent after he/she has completed the survey.

You can define the time frame in which the respondent will be re-directed to that URL.

To setup do as follows:

  • Navigate to Manage > Surveys from the left sidebar.

  • Choose the specific survey you would like to edit from the list of surveys.

  • After selecting your survey, click on Build from the top navigation.

  • Go to Settings > Online Surveys from the top navigation in the Survey Builder.

2. Conditional URL Redirection

You can choose the URL where you would like to redirect the respondents after they submit a response based on the answers selected in the survey.

You can redirect based on various conditions,

  1. Redirect all your High-scoring customers (based on an NPS, CES, or CSAT score) to your website's review page.

  2. Redirect all your prospects and leads to the pricing page.

  3. Redirect all your regular customers to your newly launched website.

  4. Redirect all your customers to your website once they submit a survey response.

You can choose, filter, and prioritize the respondents you would like to redirect based on the set logic.

How to setup up Conditional URL Redirection?

Zonka Feedback's conditional Redirection is set up by adding Logic to each question and the corresponding answer.

To setup do as follows:

  • Navigate to Manage > Surveys from the left sidebar.

  • Choose the specific survey you would like to edit from the list of surveys.

  • After selecting your survey, click on Build from the top navigation.

  • Go to 'Logic' from the top navigation in the Survey Builder

  • All the Survey Questions will be listed here, along with their Screen.

  • Click on '+ Add Logic' for the question you'd like to add Logic.

  • Follow the steps

    • Select Choice - You can select the required answer choices from the list.

    • Select Event - You can select if the event is 'Selected' or 'Not selected.'

    • Select Action - You can select the 'Redirect to' action.

    • Select URL - You can add the required secure URL.

  • Once done, click the 'Save Logicโ€™ button to complete the setup.

FAQs: Conditional URL Redirection

How long does it take to get redirected?

The Redirection action is immediate and does not have any delays.

Once a customer/respondent submits the response by clicking on the 'Done button, it automatically redirects them to the mentioned secure URL.

How do Conditional URL Redirection and URL Redirection differ?

Simple URL Redirection is set in the Survey Settings Tab, where a redirection event happens once a response is submitted with an 'x' seconds of delay; However, Conditional URL Redirections are events that occur immediately based on the answer choices submitted by your respondents.

Does this Conditional URL Redirection affect the existing Simple URL set post Thank you screen?

Yes, Conditional URL logic overrules the simple URL set in the setting section.

If the survey has a Redirection URL already set in the Settings it will be overridden if at least one redirection URL is set in Logic.

Can we set up multiple Conditional URL Redirections for different questions?

Yes, but not advisable.

The user will be able to set up multiple URLs for different questions throughout the survey, however, in this case, the URL that is set on the last question of your survey will be the prioritized URL for redirection.

Can we set up multiple Conditional URL Redirections for the same question?

Yes, definitely you can, however, it is important to set the right URLs for the right choices without overlapping.
