What is Survey Throttling?

Survey Throttling is a setting that ensures that your Contacts and Respondents are not sent surveys more than once in a specific time period. This ensures that Contacts are not over-surveyed in a given period of time.

Throttling automatically ensures that the same person, identified by their email address or mobile number, isn’t sent a Zonka Feedback Survey more than once in a set time period.

Where do we set Survey Throttling?

To ensure that you don’t send over-survey your customers, you can turn on the Survey Throttling Settings, by following the steps below.

  1. Navigate to Settings and go to Survey Throttling under Account Settings.

  2. In the drop down to select Time Period, choose the time period from 7, 15, 30, 60, 90, or 120 days.

  3. Click on Update button to save the changes.

How does Survey Throttling work?

Before sending a survey to your customer, the throttle period is compared against the exact amount of time (counted in days) from the last time that person was sent or shown a survey from the same. You can choose a setting of OFF, 7, 15, 30, 60, 90, or 120 days, and your customers will not be surveyed more than once during that time period, per survey channel.

Example: If 30 days was chosen, they will receive only one email survey and one SMS survey in a 30 day period.

The Survey Throttling is available in Professional Plan and above.
