Unlike a traditional spreadsheet, Airtable gives you the power of a super-flexible database to connect your information and design the perfect workflow. It is an all-in-one-place platform.

Zonka Feedback's Airtable Integration enables you to send new Survey Responses to tables on your bases automatically. This integration allows you to consolidate all feedback to a single view in your Airtable account.

With the Airtable and Zonka Feedback integration, you can:

  • Send new Survey Responses to multiple bases

  • Map questions in the survey to specific table fields

Finding your Airtable API Key

We need to find our Airtable's API Key to connect with Zonka Feedback. To find your key, please do as follows,

  1. Open your Airtable account, and click your profile avatar in the top right corner.

  2. The default first page is your 'Account Overview'.

  3. Scroll down the page to find your API key.

Setting up your Airtable Base and Table

Airtable is a cloud collaboration platform that offers a spreadsheet-database hybrid. The platform is a combination of a spreadsheet inclusive of all the features of a database.


Once you have logged in to your Airtable account, Each of the colorful icons in a workspace represents a base. It is very important to create a base before you integrate Zonka Feedback and Airtable. You can either create a base from the scratch or use one of their pre-built templates. Follow the steps below to create a base,

  1. Click the Add a base button, then select the Start from scratch option.

  2. From here, you can give your new base a suitable name, pick a color for your base, and give it an icon.

Now that our base is created, It is a must to create tables. Each base is made up of one or more tables. A table contains a list of items of the same type—like people, ideas, or projects. To create and customize a table, please follow the steps below,

  1. Toward the top of your base, you'll see a tab that says 'Table 1'.

  2. Rename your table with a suitable name.

  3. Create records, these are the rows of your table.

  4. By default, you'll see three columns in your table: Name, Notes, and Attachments. These columns are called fields. These created fields are used for mapping all your responses.

Setting up the Airtable Integration with Zonka Feedback

  • Choose a Survey from Survey List View and head to the Integrations tab from the top navigation.

  • Click on 'Connect' in Airtable.

  • Next, you will see the Airtable Integrations Detail Page where you have to enter your Airtable account details - API Key. Once done, click on 'Connect to Airtable'. This enables your connection.

Setting Conditions and Mapping for Airtable integration with Zonka Feedback

Once you have connected your Airtable and Zonka Feedback accounts, you can now set conditions to map Zonka Feedback Survey Response fields with Airtable fields. Here's how.

  • Once you have connected your Airtable account to your Zonka Feedback Account, go to Integrations within the Survey you'd like to set the mapping.

  • Choose Settings to manage the Airtable mapping.

  • Click on the 'Add Mapping' button to add a new mapping.

  • A popover will slide in from the right-hand side where you can add the conditions in which the Survey Response should get mapped to Airtable contacts.

  • To begin with, the mapping, give it a name in 'Mapping Name' which is user-friendly and which helps you easily identify the mapping.

  • Next, choose the Base and the Table name from the dropdown. This dropdown will have all the existing bases name from your Airtable workspace and the associated tables.

  • Once you've selected, you can now Select Conditions.
    If these conditions are met, the Survey Responses will be mapped to your Airtable, else won't be. If you'd like to sync all the Survey Responses, then you can leave this blank without adding any filters.
    When you choose 'Only when' as your condition, You can have a combination of either 'All' or 'Any' questions selected as your criteria to map your responses to the fields in Airtable.
    For example, you can filter by question and answer to view respondents who answered a question a certain way. Or you can filter by completeness to view only complete responses. Or you can filter based on a specific day or time. Know more about various filter options.

  • Next, you can Map the Fields. Here all the questions of your Zonka Feedback Survey will be displayed on one side and corresponding to it the Airtable fields will be displayed. You can select the Airtable fields that you'd like to map.
    This means the data from Zonka Feedback Survey Response will get added to the corresponding Airtable fields.

  • If you don't wish to map some fields, you can leave them blank.

  • Once done, click on 'Save' to save your Mapping Name, List, Conditions, and Mapping.

Your mapping will now be done and your Airtable fields will get auto-populated as new Zonka Feedback Survey Responses start to come in.

Removing Airtable Integration

Anytime you want to remove the Airtable Integration, you can do so easily. Here's how.

  • Go to Surveys > Integrations > Airtable

  • Scroll down to the bottom and click on the link 'Remove Integration'. The Integration would be removed.

You can connect your Airtable Account anytime later if you want to reconnect it.

Can I activate the deactivated mappings?

Yes, definitely you can. To do this,

  1. Go to Surveys > Integrations > Airtable.

  2. You find the list of all the Mappings you have created.

  3. Choose the Map name you would like to activate and click on the three dots near the edit button.

Can I add conditions for mapping the fields in Airtable?

Yes, you can add multiple conditions for mapping fields in Airtable. Only these respondents who have given a Survey Response that matches your conditions and their corresponding responses would get mapped. Know how to set conditions.

What happens when I change the field mapping after a few fields have been synced?

You can change the field mapping anytime, i.e. which information from Zonka Feedback should get saved in which field of your table can be determined anytime. When you change the field mapping, it will not have any effect on the previously synced fields in Airtable.

Can I get Airtable integration under an Essential plan?
